Manhunter II: San Francisco

In the lair of one of the local experiments.   The Orb's takeover... recreated.

Released: 1989

This was Sierra's last game made using AGI. It is also the biggest AGI game, utilizing nearly every one of the allotted 256 pictures, and 256 views. Unfortunately, it was also the last Manhunter game. Much like it's precessor, it is a mystery, first-person game, filled with comedy, terror and intrigue. At the time is was released, every other Sierra game series had already converted to using SCI.

Plot: After saving New York City, you find yourself on the trail of the evil Phil Cook, who seems to be one of the Orbs secret agents, more loyal than any Manhunter. You both eventually make your way to San Francisco, and taking up a new identity as another Manhunter, you continue your quest to stop the orbs and Phil himself. What mysterys and cruel experiments will you find in San Francisco? Find out in this thrilling and disturbing game.

Availability: Unfortunately, this title is not available at retail and it hasn't been since the early 1990's. It's possible you may find it in a bargain bin at a software store. I still find this title occasionally. You may also try the Abandonware Webring. I don't condone pirated games, but if Sierra doesn't want us to pirate games, they should make them available.
