King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne

King Graham meets a local.   The evil Hagatha will make soup out of Graham.

Released: 1985

With the popularity of the original, of course, a sequel was soon to follow. Unfortunately, this game didn't offer as much freshness as the original. It was probably cranked out to quickly. Not as well-thought out, or as long, it still remains a classic. This was the first AGI game I owned, and I absolutely loved it.

Plot: Now King Graham of Daventary, everything is okay at least for now. But soon Graham realizes that without a wife, he will have no heirs, and eventually could befall the same fate as his predessesor. But his magic mirror has shown him a vision, a vision of a woman, a princess, locked in a quartz tower. Now, as Graham, you must go off to a faraway land in order to rescue the princess, and with any luck, make yourself a bride.

Availability: This game should currently be available in both the King's Quest Series CD-ROM collection as well as the Roberta Williams anthology.
